ROCKLIN, Calif. (CITC) — A California school board president is facing backlash for urging "Christ centered" parents to join various district advisory committees.

Julie Hupp, the president of Rocklin Unified School District's (RUSD) school board, shared the sentiments over Facebook Tuesday.

"As your school board we have worked very hard to insist that important decisions (such as new curriculum) involve our parents. Now we need you," Hupp wrote. "We need as many Christ centered, family focused parents as we can get on those committees."
