Sacramento teachers have reached a new deal with the Sacramento City Unified School District as students head to class this week.

SCUSD and the Sacramento City Teachers Association said in a joint statement Wednesday that the agreement will boost salaries for the recently completed 2022-23 school year.

The deal was struck after negotiations on Tuesday and after “contract reopener” talks resumed this month with “a commitment by both the district and SCTA to work in a collaborative manner.”

As part of the agreement, the parties agreed to these salary increases, retroactive to July 1, 2022
