A journey of student loans: from high schoolers to graduating college

ROCKFORD — With October marking the start of federal student loan repayments, thousands of borrowers will face the looming reality that has been paused since 2020. Right now, we learn what current college students face, and how local high schools educate students on taking out loans. 

"You're paying about a $700 bill on top of rent, on top of the car loans and on top of food," said college senior from Rockford University, Julian Santa. 

"It's like you went to school, spent money to make money that you have to go spend back so it's still a never ending payment."
